It always happens this way,
when I least expect to find something good
at an antique show, inevitably I will.
A few weeks ago, I came across this
very rare antique German feather tree at a show.
In 25 years of collecting old Christmas, I've
only seen one of these before, and that
one I passed up.
It's only 2' tall, but the feathers
are dyed bright red at the tips, and
the remaining branches are green and
golden yellow. The little round base
has decals of Dutch children all around it.
My photos don't do it justice,
I have it in a dimly lit corner of the living room
to protect it from light.

What an amazing find!
Rick,
Love the tree. Those unexpected great "finds" keep us continuing the search.
Love the Taft photos - can you tell me whose room box is on display - the photo cut off the label.
Thanks, Kelly
Very neat! It is always fun to come across something that you know is rare or valuable!
Thanks Christine, Kelly & Troy! Kelly, the roombox is from the collection of Beth Karp.
So beautiful, I love the three colors. I wish someone would start to make reproductions
with the same colors and proportions. All the
new ones I have found are very thin and spindly.
Thank you for sharing.
Hi Rick,
I just came across a neat artist, Dolph Gotelli, some of his work, including scenes with some great antique santas on on his blog at http://www.dioramasandcleverthings.com/2011/12/dolph-gotelli-christmas-designs.html?showComment=1323963255329#c5445419370215551914
Thanks for the link Troy! I'm familiar with his work, it's amazing stuff!
