A few weeks ago, I went on an antiquing trip
with a friend. Luckily she's
not a dollhouse collector so there
wasn't any competition! I did
find a nice house, but decided against it
since it's a later vintage than
what generally appeals to me.
Needless to say, for the last
two weeks I couldn't stop thinking about that
darn house. So today I went back to that shop
(a four hour round trip mind you...I know, it's crazy!)
It was still there...and now it's here!
Made by the Rich Toys company,
most likely in the early 1960's.
At this point,
the company was using plastic window frames.
Other than the original
doorbell missing, the house is in
very nice, clean condition.
The benches on the front porch
are a fun addition.
The interior is very typical with
pale blue & green floors, and
a checked pattern on the kitchen and
bath floors.
Several months ago, while visiting family, I
found this exact same house (in deplorable condition)
at a shop. Surprisingly, that house
retained the doorbell. I don't recall the
asking price, but it may be worth
considering purchasing it just for the bell?

The house is lovely!

I love this house! I have it too, but mine is in less than ideal shape. It does have the doorbell though. I had to buy it when I saw the benches. They are so vintage chic.
Great house - looks almost brand new! I like the benches at the front door. I have had a friend cut out some vinyl grids, I am going to try and make some windows for one of my old houses. Troy
The benches are what sold me on the house, Shale - glad that yours still has the doorbell!
Troy, yes the house is almost near mint condition, it probably wasn't played with much, good luck with your windows!
Aw - it´s great and I know that feeling of : YOU SHOULD HAVE BOUGHT IT! very well ;D
