Demolition Day

I decided to dismantle my Rich
dollhouse today. This way
it can easily be stored  away (under my sofa!)
until I have time to work on it.

Sometimes we don't appreciate the fiberboard and cardboard houses of the 40's and 50's as they are not far away enough yet.
Give it 20 more years... Great House CM

CM - This is the first, of this type of house, for me to purchase. I know I'll enjoy it once I'm able to get it spruced up!

i think its lovely, as would have the child who received it originally..they will be collectibles of the future and lets not forget that these were more affordable, so more children were able to have one... and not too precious, so they actually played with them... :)

Florine- Oops!! Sorry that I outbid you on the Scottish dollhouse! :)
It will eventually show up here on the blog. I'm working on removing the major mildew smell from it....the seller failed to mention that in the listing. I don't want to put anything in it until the odor is gone.

Florine & Susan - I was unable to publish your comments, still having trouble with that issue here. But thanks for the cleaning tips!
I've tried several cleaners, and the magic eraser. Nothing really worked well.
The interior had water damage, so there are stains that won't come out. Also, a previous owner tried to wash it and smeared some of the paint! I may try to lightly re-paint the interior without changing the original look of the house. I'd prefer to keep it as original as I can.
